I obtained an used TCU which with most recent software update for a customer; while trying to swap it got a loud grinding noise from transmission. Dealer saying the module needs to be coded and adapted. I tried to do with Launch X431 even there are those funtiones for coding and adaptation but I have no idea how to do. It is asking me to enter the #s.
Can anyone please help? Or any input will be great appreciated!

I believe this will be your issue. x431 can not recode a used module from what I have seen. I believe you will have to reflash that specific TCU. I could be wrong though.
Any idea how to reflash the TCU using X431? Thanks,
Paul
I believe the only X431 tool that may have this capability is the new GDS. But even then you will need the J2534 Flashing Module which has not been released yet.
