I have noticed that during certain special functions there are no command buttons to complete test. GM crank relearn and some Ford functions so far.

yes you right and ford key programming not work ,,,   very bad

ford key programming should work up to at least 2008. I have programmed dozens. Ford has changed key programming in newer vehicles, it now needs done with jbox- like reprogramming a module.
